
EAST conducted three Whale Watches February 10th & 24th and March 9th and 24th, 2008. EAST members and guests enjoyed a full day sail aboard the 60 foot catamaran Jolly Mon while eco-guides provided educational information about whales, dolphins, sea birds and other marine life (see March 1, 2004 St. Thomas Source article on this year's whale watches, or March 23, 2003 St. Thomas Source© article on last year's event). EAST has also conducted successful eco-hike activities, such as the Cas Cay boat trip / hike held March 13, 2005, Sunsi Beach Rally / Snorkel Trip held September 25, 2004, Brown Bay Hike held January 31, 2004, the Magens Bay Hike held October 5th, 2003 (see the Dec. 2003 EAST Newsletter), or the Neltjeberg Hike held in June 2002 (see June 2002 Virgin Islands Daily News© article).
